Bringing home a puppy is a big decision. Here's exactly how the money side works at Pick Me Pets so there are no surprises.

Overview

Pick Me Pets is a marketplace that connects buyers with vetted breeders. When you reserve a puppy, your deposit is collected and held to secure that puppy from the breeder. The remaining balance is paid directly to the breeder at pickup.

Because each transaction is between you and an independent breeder, refund eligibility depends both on this policy and the deposit terms set by the breeder on the puppy's litter.


Deposits

A deposit holds a specific puppy for you and stops the breeder from showing that puppy to other buyers. Deposits are listed on every puppy and litter page before you check out.

  • Refundable deposits may be refunded under the conditions in this policy.
  • Non-refundable deposits are forfeited if you cancel after the cooling-off window described below.

72-hour cooling-off period

Within 72 hours of reserving a puppy, you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of your deposit, regardless of the breeder's deposit terms. Email support@pickmepets.com with your order reference.


Cancellations after 72 hours

After the cooling-off window, refund eligibility follows the deposit type set on the litter:

  • Refundable: deposit is refunded minus a 10% processing fee.
  • Non-refundable: deposit is forfeited; we may, at the breeder's discretion, transfer it to another available puppy in the same litter.

If the breeder cancels

If the breeder is unable to fulfill your reservation — illness, a puppy fails veterinary clearance, the litter is smaller than expected, or any other reason — you receive a full refund of your deposit, including all processing fees, regardless of deposit type.


Health guarantee

Every puppy on Pick Me Pets is covered by the breeder's health guarantee. Most guarantees cover congenital defects identified by a licensed veterinarian within a defined window after pickup.

If a covered condition is identified, the breeder may, at their option, replace the puppy or refund the adoption price. Veterinary expenses are typically not covered. The exact terms appear on each puppy's page and in the contract you sign at pickup.


How to request a refund

  1. Email support@pickmepets.com with your order reference number.
  2. Tell us the reason and include any relevant documentation (e.g. veterinary report).
  3. We respond within two business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Disputes

If you and the breeder cannot reach agreement, Pick Me Pets will mediate. Our decision is final for marketplace-related disputes. Payment-network chargebacks are reviewed against this policy and the signed adoption contract.
